India-Pakistan cricket matches may be resumed soon

New Delhi: According to a Pakistani newspaper, the Pakistan Cricket Control Board has said that there is a possibility of a cricket series between India and Pakistan soon. Both countries can play a short series of T20 matches this year. However, a final decision in this regard is expected to be taken at the ICC meeting.

The newspaper quoted sources as saying that Pakistan is considering playing a bilateral series with its neighboring country. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official refused to speak on the matter at first. But later he has said that he has been asked to prepare for the (series).

According to sources, both teams can have a three-match T20 series and a search is on for a 6-day window for this. According to the newspaper, if the series starts between India and Pakistan, then the Indian team will visit Pakistan because the last time when the two teams had a bilateral series between the two sides in 2012-13, the Pakistan team visited India.

However, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has said that no one has contacted him yet about this series nor has the Indian board talked to him in this regard.

Let us know that India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since 2012-13. But both teams have been playing against each other in ICC tournaments.
