Four NIS athletes have tested positive for Covid-19

The National Institute of Sports (NIS), Patiala, has been hit by the third wave of the COVID-19 epidemic, with the prestigious institution reporting four positive cases on Thursday (January 6). Following 170 RT-PCR tests conducted among athletes and coaches living on campus, the four positive cases were verified.

Three junior athletes and one coach are among the four positive instances.

“As part of SAI COVID SOP, 170 athletes and coaches were given RT-PCR tests on Tuesday at NSNIS Patiala. Three junior athletes and one coach tested positive for COVID, according to the results “According to a spokesperson for the Sports Authority of India (SAI),

“All four are symptomatic and have been isolated according to standard operating procedure. National campers have had no favourable experiences, and their training continues uninterrupted inside a bio-bubble ” he added.
