Dhaka: Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 48 runs in the first T20 match played in Dhaka on 9 March. With this, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead in the 2-match T20 series.

Bangladesh had a great start batting first after losing the toss in the match. Openers Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das shared a strong 92-run partnership for the first wicket. Iqbal 41, while Das made a sharp 59 off 39 balls with the help of 8 boundaries.

After this, Soumya Sarkar took the front and scored an unbeaten 62 runs in 32 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 4 fours. Apart from him, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 17, while skipper Mahmudullah scored an unbeaten 14-run innings to bring Bangladesh’s score to 200/3 in 20 overs. sikandar Raza, Chris Mofu and Wesley Madhevere got 1-1 wickets

Zimbabwe had a very poor start chasing the target. Apart from the opener Tinashe Kamunhukmave (28), no one could run in the top order. The situation was that the team had lost their 5 wickets for just 69 runs. However, captain Sean Williams played a 20, while sikandar Raza played a 10-run innings and tried to handle the team to some extent.

Apart from them, Richmond and Donald Tripano in the lower order 20-20, while Carl Mumba scored 25 runs, but the team was reduced to just 152 runs in 19 overs. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman, Aminul Islam take 3 wicket each, while Shafiul Islam, Mohammad Saifuddin and Afif got one wicket each.
