Women are mostly campaigning in metropolitan regions, while candidates and their supporters are aiming to gain support in rural areas in advance of the February 20 assembly elections.
Daljeet Kaur, the wife of Congress candidate and current MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu, Jaswant Kaur, the wife of AAP candidate Kulwant Singh, and Harjinder Kaur, the wife of SAD candidate Parvinder Sohana, are all attempting to court female voters.
“I campaign for my husband every time,” Daljeet Kaur said, “but this time is more forceful because public gatherings are prohibited.” Our day begins about 9 a.m. and ends around 6.30 p.m. We highlight the accomplishments of the Congress party, with a particular focus on urban regions,” she remarked.
She went on to say that they are also listening to people’ complaints and have told them that they will be addressed.

She remarked, “though I am not aggressively campaigning, I am doing my part,” Jaswant Kaur added. I’ve always believed that a woman has the ability to affect social change. I’m doing door-to-door campaigning in nearby cities.”
For the upcoming assembly elections in five states, the Election Commission (EC) has prolonged the ban on physical demonstrations and roadshows until January 22, but has given parties permission to hold indoor meetings with a maximum of 300 people or 50 percent of the hall’s capacity.
