An important meeting of All India Shia Personal Law Board governing body members was held today, 29th October 2022 in Shia College, Victoria Street, Lucknow. The meeting started with tilawat from Kuran e Pak. In the meeting it was decided that the session of Shia Personal Law board will be held in Mumbai on 18 December 2022 in which intellectuals and ulema from all over India will participate.Since the tenure of Chairman of the board will be ending soon Maulana Yasoob Abbas proposed the name of Maulana Syed Saim Mehdi Sahab for the office of Chairman which was accepted unanimously by all office bearers present. In this was Maulana Syed Saim Mehdi was again elected Chairman for three years again.
Another thing that came up in the meeting was the visit of Shah Salman of Saudi Arabia on 14th November to India which the members opposed as Saudi Arabia which has not made a suitable monument on the sacred graves of Prophet Muhamaad Sahab’s only daughter and sons which had been demolished about a hundred years back. Saudi government is not only not making a suitable monument at Jannatul Baki but not allowing Shias to build one themselves.
Shia Personal Law Board members have appealed to Honourable PM Narendra Modi Ji to use his influence to make suitable monuments at damaged Rauzas or allow Shia Muslims from India to construct them. The board also opposed uniform civil code and said it will harm the nation. The board also said that Madarsas have played an important role in freedom struggle of India which cannot be forgotten and it Madarsas are subjected to survey other religious educational institutions too must be surveyed.
Prominent people who took part in the meeting and expressed their opinions were Maulana Syed Saim Mehdi , Maulana Yasoob Abbas, Maulana Anwar Hussain, Professor Nayyar Jalalpuri, Maulana Aijaz Athar, Maulana Zafar Abbas, Maulana Musaib, Maulana Ishaque, Maulana Mehndi Iftikhari, Maulana Hasan Mehni Girpuri, Maulana Sadaf, Maulana Raza Abbas, Zaheer Mustafa, Hasan Mehndi ‘Jhabbu’.
