New Delhi: Amid reports that the Government is planning to increase tax on petrol and diesel, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the government should stop looting the public and putting money in the hands of its capitalist friends.
Taking to social media, Mr Gandhi, posting a news report that the Government is planning to increase tax on petrol and diesel to put money into the Novel Coronavirus fund, said ‘The Prime Minister should stop looting the public and stop giving money to his capitalist friends. Your should become ‘self reliant’.’
The Congress and Mr Gandhi have been attacking the Government on the levying of excise duty on petrol and diesel and failing to pass on the benefit of reduction in international crude oil price to the people.
