Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday surged by 376.60 pts at 40,522.10 following gains in Bankex, Power, Finance and Health Care stocks
The Nifty of national stock exchange too rose by 121.65 pts at 11,889.40
Sliding by 540 pts on Monday, the Sensex opened higher by 54 pts to 40,199.08. It was rallied by 410 pts to 40,555.60, days high before closing at 40,522.10, up by 376.60 pts from its previous close.
The sectoral indices that went up were Power, Bankex, Finance and Health Care stocks.
In scrips, Kotak Bank, Nestle India, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance and NTPC advanced while selling in ONGC, Infosys, HDFC and SBI capped from further gain, dealer informed.
The sensex registered days high and low at 40,555.60 and 39,978.39 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at
11,899.05 and 11,723 pts respectively.
The Mid Cap rose by 1.65 pc and Small Cap by 0.60 pc.
In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.
