New Delhi: Ending doubts in Bengal politics, the party of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has announced to contest the election on the last day of the nomination of the fourth phase of the West Bengal elections.
Owaisi has said that he will speak about it in the March 27 public meeting. Earlier, there were speculations that the party would not enter the fray due to the Indian Secular Party contesting the Bengal elections.
Owaisi has said that the party will contest the Bengal elections. How many seats will be contested, it will be known after a public meeting in Sagardagi on 27 March. If Owaisi enters the state elections, it will directly benefit the BJP. West Bengal has a Muslim vote share of around 31 per cent.
Earlier, Owaisi was preparing to break into Mamata’s vote bank with Abbas Siddiqui. But Abbas Siddiqui left with the Congress. A few days ago, AIMIM state president Zamirul Hasan left the party before the elections. Earlier, SK Abdul Kalam parted ways and joined Trinamool Congress (TMC). Now everyone is eyeing the 27th rally with this announcement.
