Jaipur (Rajasthan): Congress legislator from Osian constituency Divya Maderna said on Friday that all the leaders of the legislature party who had boycotted a meeting with the representatives sent by the high command to resolve the problem were with the top leadership. Mardena tweeted claiming that all the legislators with the party high command.
Mardena tweeted: “Not many but all MLAs have changed their mood. Every Congress MLA is with the high command and will remain so. Every MLA is identified with the party and no one exists without the party’s symbol.” Mardena has always been critical of those who boycotted the Congress Legislature Party meeting on September 25. Mardena also said that it was against discipline and she is always with the party high command.
Many Congress law-makers boycotted the CLP meeting called by the representatives of the party high command at the residence of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on September 25. Immediately after the incident, the party top brass sent notices to Urban Development and Housing Minister Shanti Dhariwal, Water Resources Minister Mahesh Joshi and head of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Dharmendra Rathod for boycotting the meeting.
Now that all of them have sent their replies, the disciplinary committee will take a decision on what has to be done against them.
Meanwhile, the Congress legislators have campaigned for Mallikarjun Kharge who is vying for the post of party president. The election to the post will be held on October 17 and the results will be declared on October 19.
As the senior leaders of the party are busy with the party president’s election, any decision on those who did not attend the September 25 CLP meeting will be taken only after that, sources in the Congress said.
