New Delhi: The leaders of the Congress party have said that the Central Government has begun to recognise the National Tricolour which the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has always been opposed to, party sources said. Their remark came on Thursday on the heels of the Central Government’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign as part of the 75th year of India’s independence. They added former Prime Minister Jawharlal Nehru’s picture with the national flag to their Twitter display. It all began after the Congress’s media cell in charge Jairam Ramesh made the picture and the jibe on social media. Ramesh tweeted: “Sangh people are not adopting the tricolour. We are putting the DP of our leader Nehru with the tricolour in his hand. But the message of the Prime Minister did not reach the family.”

Similarly, another Congress leader Pramod Tiwari changed his display picture. He tweeted: “Where were their ancestors in the freedom struggle? It is good that now they are adopting the tricolour.” Nevertheless, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there should not be any politics in regard to celebrating the 75th year of India’s independence.
