Haldwani. Mayor Jogendra Pal Singh Rautela called upon citizens to abstain from the use of single-use polythene and join the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of MK Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Municipal Corporation of Haldwani organized an event. The Mayor and employees of the Municipal Corporation paid tribute to both the leaders.
The Mayor then launched a plastic-free campaign under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. As part of the voluntary labor campaign organized by the corporation. On the occasion, around 11 tonnes of plastic waste were collected from various parts of the city with the help of citizens and organizations.
