Since Owaisi’s father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, won the seat in 1984, the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency has served as the Majlis’s stronghold. Asaduddin Owaisi had held the seat since 2004. In 2019 there was a disparity of approximately 3 lakh votes between Owaisi and Bhagavanth Rao, the BJP candidate. The BJP plans to challenge the status quo in 2024 by fielding Dr. Madhavi Latha. Her field of study was political science. Vishwanath, the spouse of Madhavi Latha, founded and serves as president of the Virinchi Hospital.
Another name for Madhavi Latha is a religious speaker. She has dedicated herself to Hindu causes. Additionally, Madhavi Latha is connected to numerous charitable organizations, such as the LathaM Foundation and the Lopamudra Charitable Trust.
The 49-year-old is the initial woman the BJP has put up for office in Hyderabad.
