Lucknow: The rising temperature and heatwave conditions have troubled the people across the state. The temperature in the capital has crossed 43 degree Celsius. But there maybe be some respite in the coming days from the scorching heat. The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory of strong wind with speed reaching 25 to 35 kmph in western Uttar Pradesh for the next three days. The effect of Western Disturbance around Iran can be seen in the western part of the state till April 21. Light rain is likely over West Uttar Pradesh on 21, 22 and 23 April, while East Uttar Pradesh may receive drizzle on 22 April.

On Monday, the capital recorded a maximum temperature of 43.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 22.5 degrees Celsius. In Varanasi, Agra, Lucknow and Prayagraj divisions, the temperature rose by three to five degrees Celsius above normal. The effect of the cyclonic wind was observed throughout the day at Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bahraich, Meerut and some other places. According to the Meteorological Department forecast, the maximum temperature of the capital is expected to be 43.0 °C and the minimum temperature is 22.0 °C for the next two days. The maximum temperature is likely to rise by two to three degrees Celsius in the next five days.

Amid the rising heatwave condition demand for cooling products like air conditioners and fridges has witnessed an upsurge to offset the scorching heat.
