December 27 Commodore CS Nayar was recently succeeded by Commodore Pradeep Patel as the Commanding Officer of INS Kalinga and the Station Commodore of Naval Station, Bheemunipantnam. On Tuesday, December 26, INS Kalinga had a ceremony where Commodore Pradeep Patel took over. On January 1, 1996, Commodore Pradeep Patel was commissioned into the Indian Navy. He has served on board commands in both the Eastern and Western Naval Commands.
Commodore Pradeep Patel attended junior staff college in Bangladesh, the CDACIT management program, Madras University (DSSC, Wellington), and Mumbai University (NHCC) for his post-graduation in defense and strategic studies, where he earned a M.Phil. The Chief of Naval Staff praised Commodore Pradeep Patel in 2003, and the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief did the same in 2001 and 2008. The officer has been closely involved with INS Trikand since he was commissioned as an electrical officer.
