In advance of the inauguration of the Ram Temple on January 22, the Ayodhya railway station has been renamed Ayodhya Dham. On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to officially open the station’s new structure. The city’s railway station has been changed to Aydhya Dham ahead of the opening of the Ram Temple on January 22.
More than 6,000 people are anticipated to attend the “Pran Partishtha,” or the consecration event of the Ram Lalla idol, which is being attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath.
PM Modi is expected to hold a roadshow and speak at a public gathering prior to the consecration event on January 22. On December 30, he opened an airport near the temple town of Ayodhya, according to news agency reports. The new train station building, which is adjacent to the old building, will also be opened by the prime minister on the same day.
The organization claims that the renovated Ayodhya train station is a cutting-edge establishment with contemporary “airport-like” amenities and a façade influenced by ancient temple architecture. On Wednesday, while construction workers hurried to complete their job, a number of security officers stood watch, and officials from several agencies assessed the state of the arrangements in advance of the prime minister’s arrival.
Under the Ministry of Railways, RITES (Rain India Technical and Economic Service) Limited is a central public sector undertaking that has been carrying out the redevelopment work since a few years ago. Shop shutters along the Ram Path and other well-known avenues in Ayodhya have been adorned with artwork with Hindu themes as the city gets ready for the big event. The government’s attempts to facilitate the passage of passengers and devotees visiting Ayodhya for the “darshan” of the temple are aligned with the railway station’s expansion in Ayodhya. Before it opened, workmen were busy decorating the building’s great central hall, which has a high ceiling, a floor with stone inlay, and a roof covered in “polycarbonate sheet” that gives it a blue tint in some places.
Beginning construction in November 2018, the Ayodhya railway station’s first phase, which features “excellent facilities,” was finished under a 240 crore budget. The station, which spans 10,000 square meters and has three platforms, has been managed by the national government’s Rail India Technical and Economical Service (RITES). Apart from the main building, the station provides parking staff housing and amenities like escalators, elevators, air-conditioned waiting areas, a food court, and male and female dorms. The main edifice of the station is shaped after the Ram Mandir and has four pyramid-like structures and two shikhars (steeples). The pink Bansi Paharpur stone used in the building’s construction came from Rajasthan; this is the same stone utilized in the construction of the Ram Mandir. A development budget of Rs 480 crore is allotted to the impending second phase of construction. On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also anticipated to open the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya.
