Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, has been urged to run for the Lok Sabha in 2024 from the party’s stronghold of Uttar Pradesh by supporters who have posted posters in Raebareli.

Gandhi’s message to voters said “I understand you will be supported by me and my family in the future just as in the past.” Will not run for Lok Sabha given my age and health. She continued.

JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, and three other party candidates were proclaimed elected to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat without facing any opposition.

After serving five terms as an MP, Sonia Gandhi, who has represented Rae Bareli in the Lok Sabha since 2004, has decided not to run in the upcoming general elections.  She won her first election from Bellary in 1999 after taking over as president of Congress at the time. In Rajasthan, BJP candidates Chunnilal Gadasis and Madan Rathore were also elected without opposition. Rajasthan has ten seats in the Rajya Sabha. Following the results the BJP has four members and the Congress has six.
