PM Modi wrote, “Today is an important day for our railways! In a post on social media, 2000 railway infrastructure projects valued at more than Rs. 41,000 crore will be devoted to the country at 12:30 PM. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 553 stations will be redeveloped to improve the travel experience. These stations would have their foundation stones laid.

There will also be the opening of underpasses and overbridges throughout India. He continued, “These works will further “Ease of Living” for the people.”

  • Under the Amrit Bharat initiative, PM Modi will lay the groundwork for the reconstruction of 553 railway stations, which will include enhancing amenities through the creation of station city centers and rooftop plazas.
  • According to officials, the prime minister also virtually inaugurated nearly 2000 railway stations and operating sites, as well as laying the cornerstone for nearly 1500 road overpasses and underpasses in various states.
  • At a cost of more than Rs 19,000 crore, the Amrit Bharat stations, which are dispersed throughout 27 states and Union Territories, will be redeveloped.
  • According to the statement, these stations will serve as city centers, uniting the two halves of a city, and they will feature contemporary passenger amenities like roof plazas, lovely landscaping, multimodal connectivity, a sleek façade, a children’s play area, kiosks, and food courts.
  • It states that the stations will be redeveloped to be environmentally and Divyang-friendly, and that the local heritage, culture, and architecture will serve as inspiration for the building’s design.
  • The prime minister will additionally erect the cornerstone, open 1500 overpasses and underpasses, and dedicate them to the country. According to the statement, these will be distributed among 24 states and Union Territories, and their total estimated cost is approximately Rs 21,520 crore.
  • According to the statement, these projects will ease traffic, boost connectivity and safety, and increase the capacity and effectiveness of rail travel.
  • On February 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin laying the groundwork for the Gurugram railway station to be upgraded. An Indian Express report states that the project’s estimated initial phase cost is Rs 295 crore.
  • According to sources, Modi will also open the redevelopment of Gomti Nagar station in Uttar Pradesh, which cost about Rs 385 crore.
