True enough, the world’s tallest structure will soon be erected in Uttar Pradesh! The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will construct a 251-meter-tall Ram temple on the banks of the Saryu River in Ayodhya. At its present height, the Sardar Patel Unity Monument in Gujarat holds the record; however, this Ram monument is set to exceed it. This decision was made after discussions on the proposed monument and its surroundings by a high-level committee in Ayodhya chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Exclusive photos of the finished model are available on Zee Business Online.
Near the Saryu River in Ayodhya, over an area of around 100 acres, a monument to Lord Ram would be built. It is 251 meters tall and has a 20-meter-tall circle on top. The 50-meter-base monument of Lord Ram will have a quiver, bow, and arrows. An exquisite museum showcasing relics related to Lord Ram’s life will be housed under the monument’s 50-meter-high base/pedestal.
Furthermore, the museum will recount the history of Ayodhya throughout the Ikshvaku dynasty, starting with Manu and ending with the birth of Lord Ram. All of Lord Vishnu’s incarnations will be on display at this museum, courtesy of modern technology.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Uttar Pradesh government have a novel plan to build a temple to Lord Ram. Along the Sarayu River, a front will be built that will include a memorial to Lord Ram. A foundation of trust will be built under the guidance of CM Yogi. According to the Yogi government, work will soon commence on the tallest monument of Lord Rama.
Lord Ram Statue Project Cost Estimate
Rumour has it that the Uttar Pradesh government has sources saying the project would cost a total of Rs 2500 crore and be split into three phases. Initiating funds amount to 1500 crore rupees. It is worth mentioning that the governments of UP and Gujarat will also sign memorandums of understanding to enable technical assistance. To further ensure the statue’s proper installation and ongoing maintenance, the government will also create a Rajkiya Nirman Nigam. In addition, the committee chose to collaborate with IIT Kanpur and NEERI, a Nagpur-based institute, to conduct site inspections, environmental evaluations, feasibility studies, and other related duties (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute)
What makes this monument noteworthy is that a significant portion of its construction—about 70-80%—took place in China. With final budget approval still waiting, Narender Kumawat is crossing his fingers that his idea of this sculpture as a representation of Swadeshi craftsmanship could become the world’s tallest monument constructed entirely by Indian artisans.
The visionary artist Narender Kumawat claims that the sculpture is more than just an eye-catching piece of art; it is a demonstration of his creative abilities. If it receives enough money, this idol will not only represent Lord Rama, but it will also become the fourth-largest statue in the world, after the colossal Nathdwara, Rajasthan, a monument to Shiva.
