Surgical Strike Gave a Tough Message to Enemies: Amit Shah

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking out against terrorism in Pakistan, said that India’s surgical strike five years ago sent a clear message to the world that no one can meddle with its boundaries. He said that under the BJP-led NDA, India responds appropriately to terrorist acts, which was not the case under the Congress-led UPA.

After laying the foundation stone for the National Forensic Science University, Mr. Shah was speaking to a crowd in Dharbandora hamlet in South Goa. Still, today India answers in the same language that they (terrorists) understand.

Mr. Shah referred to India’s surgical strike in 2016, saying that the military action sent a strong message to the rest of the world that no one can tamper with its boundaries. On September 29, 2016, India launched a surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC) in response to a terrorist attack on an Army post in Jammu & Kashmir’s Uri region.

Mr. Shah praised the late Manohar Parrikar, a BJP veteran who served as the country’s defence minister. The introduction of One Rank One Pension (OROP) in the armed services would be remembered for years, according to Manohar Parrikar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
