In an attempt to corner Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Dalit issues, the Aam Aadmi Party demanded on Tuesday that he fulfil his party’s commitment to provide 5 marla plots to members of the SC caste, failing which it would do so if it came to power. “Punjab CM is utilising the SC category as a vote bank but is doing nothing for their advancement,” AAP Punjab co-chairman Raghav Chadha remarked.

Only Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, according to Chadha, is a true supporter of the SC community. “In Delhi, the family of a lady named Safai Sewak, who died in the Corona outbreak, was handed Rs 1 million in aid. “The ‘Jai Bhim Yojana’ has been introduced, under which students from the SC community are given free preparation for IAS, IPS, IIT, and other examinations, as well as a particular sum for costs,” he stated. He predicted that the Punjab Assembly election in 2022 will be a “Kejriwal vs. all” battle.
He alleged that during the 2017 elections, political groups such as the Akali Dal and the BJP “transferred” votes to the Congress party in order to prevent the AAP from forming a government in Punjab. In response to another query, he stated that the AAP will shortly release a new list of candidates for the elections. The AAP has announced ten candidates, all of whom are already serving MLAs.

“AAP believes in working and giving representation,” Chadha remarked when asked about the idea of his party nominating a Dalit as its CM candidate. However, we do not engage in vote-bank politics.” Chadha responded to Navjot Singh Sidhu’s criticism of Kejriwal for not having a single woman in his Cabinet by asking the Punjab Congress president to first ask Chief Minister Channi how much he respects women. “Just respect the ladies you and I are both familiar with.” “Take it into consideration, and then ask Kejriwal Sahab,” he stated.
