Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar made a shocking claim on Tuesday, alleging that a state cabinet minister was involved in a sex scandal and that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was aware of it and was attempting to destroy documents related to the issue. The claims have been denied by the BJP as unfounded.
“Based on the way he speaks to the woman; he isn’t even qualified to be an MLA. In the tape, the lady pleads for her right after being sexually abused. Chodankar’s claims against the yet-to-be-named Minister came only a day after Goa BJP general secretary Damu Naik accused Chodankar of bringing bogus allegations against the ruling party.

“The videos and audios have been seen by the CM. He was also privy to the WhatsApp conversations. The CM has seen all of the images, and I was shocked that when such information concerning a Minister is brought to his attention, he continues to defend him “Chodankar said.
“Nothing is done by the CM. I was advised once more that the CM was going out of his way to seek and destroy the evidence. The Minister has made a mistake, but the CM has made a worse mistake. The evidence is being destroyed by the Goa Police “he stated.
“You should fire this minister from the cabinet right now before the Prime Minister visits in Goa on December 19,” the state Congress chief stated. Sadanand Shet Tanavade, the state head of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), responded to Chodankar’s claim by saying that Chodankar was making unsubstantiated personal charges.

“His claim has sparked new concerns about everyone. At the very least, the individual who did the atrocities should come forward. Also, there isn’t much to complain about. He (Chodankar) may level similar charges against me as well. This is a fictitious accusation.”
