NationalMamata Banerjee Ready to Resign as Chief Minister Over Doctors' Protest

Date:

News Desk – Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of Bengal, said she might resign because of ongoing disagreements with doctors. The doctors are protesting after a tragic incident at a hospital.

The Chief Minister tried to meet with the protesting doctors to solve the issues. She waited for them at a meeting, but they didn’t come because they wanted the meeting shown live on TV, which the government didn’t agree to.

Banerjee believes some people are using the protest for their own gain and are preventing the doctors from discussing and resolving the matter. She mentioned that the government has agreed to most of the doctors’ requests except for broadcasting the meeting live.

The doctors want the live broadcast to ensure the meeting is open and fair to everyone. But the government says it can’t be broadcast live because the Supreme Court is also reviewing the case.

Banerjee said she is willing to step down from her position if it helps resolve the situation, emphasizing that her main concern is the well-being of Bengal’s people, especially those needing medical attention.

The protest started because of a doctor who was harmed at the hospital, leading to major demands for changes in the police and health departments. The issue is serious enough that India’s Supreme Court is involved.
