About Lasya Nanditha
About ten years ago, Nanditha, who is the daughter of the late BRS leader G. Sayanna, entered politics. In November of last year, the 36-year-old lawmaker emerged victorious from the Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly constituency. With 17,169 votes, she defeated Ganesh N., the BJP candidate. After her father, a five-time MLA from the same constituency, passed away, she was able to secure the BRS nomination.
In 2016, Nanditha held the position of Hyderabad’s Kavadiguda Municipal Corporator. In December 2020, she resigned from her position following her defeat in the municipal elections.
The BRS leadership honors Nanditha.
After Nanditha passed away, a number of prominent BRS leaders paid tribute. BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao released a statement expressing his condolences for her passing and promising his party would stand by her grieving family. Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao, in the meantime, praised Nanditha and described her as a very talented future leader. Revanth Reddy, in the meantime, recalled his close relationship with his deceased father.
Sayanna’s death in February of last year and Lasya Nanditha’s unexpected death in the same month (splitting the year in half) are both tragic, he said. BRS MLC K Kavitha expressed her grief over Nanditha’s passing in a letter: “I was shocked to learn of the unexpected death of my sister Lasya Nanditha and Cantonment MLA in a traffic accident.”
It is deeply tragic that Lasya Nanditha, who followed in the footsteps of her deceased father Sayanna by becoming an MLA at an early age, passed away so suddenly. I am pleading with God to grant Lasya Nanditha’s soul rest.
