NationalKarnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s Comment to Reporter Over Food Choice Sparks Attention

Date:

News Desk – A light conversation between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and a female reporter on Tuesday drew attention after he remarked that she was “missing something in life” for being a vegetarian.

The exchange took place during a breakfast meeting at Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s residence in Sadashivanagar. The meeting was part of the Congress leadership’s effort to show unity amid talks of internal differences.

What Happened?

During the informal chat, Siddaramaiah asked the reporter if she liked chicken.

When she replied that she was a “pure vegetarian,” he questioned the term “pure” and asked if she at least ate eggs.

When she said no, he smiled and said:

“You are missing something in life.”

Leaders Showcase Unity

The breakfast menu itself highlighted the leaders’ different food preferences:

Shivakumar: Vegetarian dishes

Siddaramaiah: Naati koli (country chicken) cooked Mysuru-style by Shivakumar’s wife Usha

Both leaders told the media that they were “like brothers” and denied any rift within the party.
