He will leave the UAE for Qatar on Tuesday. The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi is a magnificent example of architectural brilliance, spiritual significance, and cultural harmony brought together. As the first conventional Hindu stone temple in the Middle East, it represents the UAE’s dedication to diversity and tolerance. Millions of people of various backgrounds and faiths are anticipated to attend. These are a few details and characteristics of this unusual temple. During his 1997 visit to the United Arab Emirates, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha’s spiritual leader, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, came up with the idea to build a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. His vision was to promote harmony between nations, civilizations, and faiths. The UAE government announced in August 2015 that it had decided to set aside land for the temple, which was a notable act of goodwill.
Sheikh Mohamed and BAPS representatives met in the Presidential Palace on February 10, 2018, under the direction of Prime Minister Modi. Prime Minister Modi expressed his belief that the temple would serve as a holy place where humanity and harmony would unite when he signed the memorandum of understanding for the temple project. On April 20, 2019, dignitaries from the UAE and India, including Mahant Swami Maharaj, attended the ceremony to lay the foundation stone.
Inspired by the ancient Hindu scriptures of Shilpa Shastras, the temple was designed by RSP Architects, Planners & Engineers Private Limited, and Capital Engineering Consultants. Its dimensions are a height of 32.92 meters (108 feet), a length of 79.86 meters (262 feet), and a width of 54.86 meters (180 feet). This enormous building, which has the potential to house 10,000 people, is expected to become the largest Hindu temple in West Asia.
