The people coming to visit Kumbh Mela will have to follow strict Covid guidelines
Devotees might be having a turn down due to tight restrictions

Haridwar | Kumbh mela 2021 will have to follow covid-19‘s strict guidelines. In the desire of making their birth successful by bathing in the holy waters of the fallen Ganges, Ganga, the devotees coming to Kumbh Mela will have to face all the restrictions from coming to Haridwar and taking bath. In such a situation, many devotees with the intention of taking bath in Kumbh Mela may face disappointment.

In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the central government has issued strict guidelines that are to be followed during the kumbh mela. Whereas, the district administration has also issued SOP on the kumbh mela putting several restrictions in place. According to the SOP, the devotees which will come to the kumbh snan in Haridwar will have to bring their RTPCR report which will indicate that they are not infected with covid-19 of 72 hours prior to their snan. devotees will also have to put their request to visit kumbh mela on the website “https://www.haridwarkumbhmela2021.com/”. During the mela people have to maintain social distancing, sanitization and wear a mask at all times.

Devotees will have to bathe in just 20 minutes

According to the SOP issued for the kumbh mela, devotees will have only 20 minutes to bathe. As soon as the 20 minutes get over the staff will start taking people out of the water. After which the second batch of people will be allowed to come and take a bath. At the same time, a ban has been imposed in the Mela area to conduct mass hymns and organize public lunches. According to the SOP, pregnant women, children below ten years of age and elderly people above 65 years of age will be discouraged from entering the Bath Ghat area. In the past, there has been an appeal to them not to come for a bath.

Orders have been given for Dustbins to be kept in place for the proper disposal of masks and gloves. Police, SDRF and other agencies have been asked to set up a communication system at the Bath Ghat to coordinate between the swimmers stationed at the ghats. Instructions have also been given to equip all the employees posted at the ghat with PPE kits and follow all safety measures. Those who do not follow the Covid Guidelines will be dealt with under the Disaster Management Act 2005 Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and relevant sections of IPC.
