New Delhi: Children aged between 5 years to 11 will get the Corbevex covid vaccine after the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) panel recommendation. In September last year, Biologicals E got permission to test its vaccine on children in the age group of 5 to 18 years. This vaccine has proved effective in clinical trials of Phase 2 and 3 in this age group.

Vaccination of children of 12 to 17 years from March 9
According to media reports, the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) approved Corbevex on December 28 last year and on March 9 this year for people in the age group of 12 to 17 years, subject to certain conditions. Biologicals Corbivex is being used to vaccinate children in the age group of 12 to 14 years.
Corbevex will be applied like Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Serum Institute’s Covishield. This is also an intermuscular vaccine that will be given through injection. Two doses of this vaccine will be applied. There will be a difference of 28 days between the two doses. According to experts, while this vaccine will be provided free of cost in government hospitals, the cost of a single dose in private hospitals can be Rs 145.
