New Delhi: The Union Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. Many important decisions have been approved in this meeting. The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal for the distribution of extra nutritional rice in all government schemes. The distribution of nutritious rice will be implemented in three phases under Public Distribution System (PDS) and other schemes. Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Friday that the Union Cabinet has approved the distribution of rice under government schemes. He also informed that in this regard, The Food Corporation of India (FCI) and state agencies have approved the purchase of 88.65 lakh tonnes of additional nutritionally rich rice for supply and distribution.

 

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its approval for the supply of fortified rice in the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), Integrated Child Development Services.

 

Cabinet approves extension of Atal Innovation Mission till March 2023

Also today, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi has approved the continuation of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) till March 2023. AIM will serve its intended goal of creating an innovation culture and entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. This will be done by AIM through its various programs.

The targeted targets to be achieved by AIM include setting up of 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs). Establishment of 101 Atal Incubation Centers (AICs) To set up 50 Atal Community Innovation Centers (ACICs) and support 200 Startups through Atal New India Challenge.

According to the government data, a total budget expenditure of more than Rs 2000 crore has been allocated to support the beneficiaries and welfare schemes. A few days back even the IMF has applauded the Pradhan Mantri Jan Kalyan Scheme (PMJKY) of free ration by saying that “Modi govt free food program has saved millions of people from extreme poverty”.
