NewsDesk: India’s most efficient and low-cost airline has achieved another feat; IndiGo has now become the world’s sixth-largest airline by passenger volume for March, as per a report by UK-based Official Airline Guide (OAG).
Indigo carried more than 2.02 million passengers in the month of March, the maximum by any Asian airline, according to data collected till March 28.
It was also named the world’s fastest-growing carrier too by OAG, for its 41.3% passenger growth in March 2022. Indigo is ranked among the top 10 best airlines in the world by seat capacity.
The OAG study includes airport and route capacity data of about 20 largest worldwide airlines. IndiGo becomes the first airline to appear on this list from India.

Indigo recently announced the start of operations for more than 150 foreign destinations from various airports in India in April along with several new domestic routes. Indigo has always focussed on efficiency and timelines to provide better value for money to make a mark in the airline’s sector. Indigo currently commands around 65% market share in the domestic passenger carrier space.
