Another is critically ill; civil hospital in Junagadh has been barricaded, locals not allowed to enter there; many more may have fallen ill
Junagadh: At a time when the Gujarat government takes credit for banning liquor, many people have lost their lives consuming it. A few months ago, a large number of people lost their lives consuming liquor.
Two persons died and another is in critical condition after consuming liquor in Junagadh district of Gujarat, sources said on Tuesday.
According to Congress legislator from Junagadh Bhikhabhai Joshi, the people of Ghachipat Society informed him that a large number of people had collected outside the civil hospital. When he enquired of the reason for it, he came to know that three persons were taken to hospital because they had fallen ill after consuming liquor, Joshi said.
Nevertheless, the doctors at the hospital could not confirm the reasons for the death and said that everything would be clear after the post-mortem of the bodies. Three persons had fallen ill after consuming illicit liquor in Gandhi Chowk.
The police have been deployed outside the government and people were not allowed to enter there. Sources further said more people might have fallen ill after consuming liquor.
