Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has granted bail to former Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) CEO Partho Dasgupta, arrested in the TRP scam case. The bail has been granted by Justice PD Naik to Dasgupta on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two solvents of the same. Dasgupta filed a bail application in the High Court in January this year. However, the court rejected the bail plea, stating that she was in the role of mastermint in the case.
Last month, Partho Dasgupta revealed that Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV, had given him $ 12 and Rs 40 lakh for tampering with the TRP. Partho Dasgupta was arrested in December last year. This was revealed by the Mumbai Police.
According to the Indian Express, Partho Dasgupta had made a written statement in front of the Mumbai Police, according to the Indian Express. Partho also said that he got a total of Rs 40 lakhs for the fix rating in three years.
The Mumbai Police filed a 3,600-page supplementary charge sheet in the court on January 11. BARC’s forensic report was also presented in it. Apart from this, a WhatsApp chat was also filed by the Mumbai Police of the lengthy conversation between Dasgupta and Arnab, and a statement of 59 people including cable operators and former Bark Council employees.
