Gurugram (Haryana): Three of the six members of a family, who sustained injuries in an explosion caused by firecrackers illegally stored at their residence in Gurugram district of Haryana, succumbed to injuries at Safdarjung Hospital on Sunday, the police said. Three others are still struggling for life. The explosion occurred at the residence of Jai Bhagwan in Nakhrola village under Kherki Daula policed station on October 12.
Those who lost their lives in the incident have been identified as Jai Bhagwan (48), his son Manish (17), and daughter Chhavi (11). Immediately after the incident, the injured were rushed to the hospital. Three other victims Satish Kumar (45), his relative and a minor boy Tanuj are undergoing treatment.
The police further said that the roof and wall of the house blew off and more than two neighbouring developed cracks. On getting information, fire personnel and the police rushed to the spot and brought the injured out of the debris of the house. The injured were initially rushed to the Gurugram civil hospital, but as their conditions were deteriorating, they were referred to the Safdarjang Hospital.
