New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has sought a detailed report on the political situation in Rajasthan after party observers Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken briefed the party chief about the developments in the state. Both of them will submit a report tonight or tomorrow. Maken said that they had apprised the party president about the problems. She sought a detailed report on it. Maken said that they could not hold the proposed meeting with the Congress Legislature Party (CLP). According to him, it was Gehlot who gave consent for the meeting and fixed the venue for it.
He said that a few representatives of legislators and ministers met him and put up three demands. One of their demands was the election of CLP after October 19 when the election to the post of AICC president will have concluded. He said that considering that demand means a conflict of interests. According to Maken, when a CLP meeting is help, no parallel convention can be held. Therefore, holding another meeting was an act of indiscipline, he said.
