Road accidents account for the highest number of deaths and serious injuries in India. According to NCRB data, there are about 4,50,000 accidents in India every year. About 1,50,000 people die in this. Many become permanently disabled.

Some people drive well during the day. But due to a lack of experience in the night, they doze off and have an accident.

According to NCRB, 60% of road accidents in India are due to overspeeding.

The Central Government said that in the year 2020, there were more than 3 lakh road accidents in which about 1 lakh 32 thousand people died. The government cited overspeeding on highways and expressways as the main reason for these accidents.

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, two-thirds of the accident victims in 2021 were overspeeding.

These are the 3 reasons for overspeeding

In the report of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, it was said that accidents caused by overspeeding are the most dangerous and fatal. There are three main reasons for this…

At higher speeds, the vehicle requires more braking distance. This means that when the speed is high, the vehicle will need more space to stop. On the other hand, a vehicle running at a low speed stops immediately as soon as the brakes are applied.

If a vehicle running at a high speed crashes, the intensity will be high. This makes the accident serious.

The driver driving at high speed also has less time to understand the things happening on the road and take decisions. In such a situation, many times the drivers take the wrong decision and meet with an accident.
