Rewa: Panwar police of Rewa district have seized a truck loaded with 18 cattle. If sources are to be believed, the vicious animal smugglers kept dodging the police for about an hour. When the station in charge chased the police vehicle, they increased the speed of the truck.
Meanwhile, the smugglers hit a car that came on the way. After a lot of effort, the Panwar police tried to stop the truck by placing a tractor-trolley on the highway near Jawa, informing the control room.
Meanwhile, the smugglers slowed down the truck and got down. Going at speed, the truck collided with the tractor-trolley parked in front. On the other hand, the driver and the smuggler fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
After the incident, the Panwar police recovered 18 cattle from the truck. On Monday morning, the tractor-trolley along with the truck was taken out from the JCB and made to stand in the police station. Action has been taken against the smugglers under the Cow Prohibition and Animal Cruelty Act.
Panwar police station in-charge sub-inspector Mahendra Singh said that at 10 o’clock on Sunday night, the informer informed about animal smuggling from DCM truck number UP 66 F 9887. The informer said that the smugglers are taking cattle from Malokhar village to Prayagraj in UP. After concrete information, the police barricaded the area. But the smugglers broke the police barricades and ran away.
Police have recovered 18 bovine bulls from the accident truck. Now arrangements have been made to send them to the nearest cowshed after taking guidance from the revenue officials. It is discussed that the Panwar police were troubled by cattle smugglers from 9.30 pm on 25th December to 12 noon on 26th December.
