NewDelhi: (Karauli Violence) All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi blamed the Gehlot government of Rajasthan. Owaisi said that this incident which happened in the Karauli district of Rajasthan was due to the failure of the law and order of the Gehlot government. The AIMIM chief said, ‘This incident shows the failure of the Rajasthan government. It was because of their negligence that communal riots took place and the Muslim community was subjected to violence.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was addressing the media at Jaipur airport today on violence-hit Karauli. Owaisi said, ‘This incident is telling the story of the failure of law and order of Gehlot’s government in Rajasthan. We thought they would learn from past events. This is a huge loss, the targeted violence against the Muslim community needs attention. On April 2, an incident of stone-pelting during a religious procession in the Karauli district of Rajasthan became the cause of violence and communal riots. Several vehicles and shops were set on fire. After this curfew was imposed till April 10 with some relaxation.

Stones were pelted at a bike rally in the Karauli district of Rajasthan on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar on the evening of Saturday, April 2. It was only after this that the riots started in which people of two communities clashed with each other. People belonging to one community set fire to half a dozen shops belonging to the other community. Two houses were also set on fire. Some vehicles were also torched. Curfew was imposed to bring the tense situation under control.
Meanwhile, today in Dausa the Rajasthan police have detained BJP MP Tejasvi Surya and BJP Rajasthan president Satish Poonia on their way to violence-hit Karauli. Both the leaders along with the supporters were stopped and later released. Tejasvi said that Karauli violence is the result of Gehlot government failure and appeasement policy to garner Muslim votes to win elections.
