Aurangabad: 16 migrant laborers died after being hit by a goods train on Friday (May 8) in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. The incident occurred near Aurangabad district Karmad. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced financial assistance of Rs five lakh each to the families of the deceased laborers. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had announced a grant of Rs five lakh each to the families of the deceased laborers killed in a train accident in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. According to Karmad police, the workers going from Jalna to Bhusaval were returning to Madhya Pradesh. They said that they were walking on the side of the railway tracks and slept on the tracks due to fatigue. The officer said that the train crushed them at five in the morning at five. Two of the five survivors are injured.
