Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader (aarti at the Saryu Ghat in Ayodhya on Monday evening while in Uttar Pradesh, where Assembly elections are scheduled for early next year. On Tuesday, Kejriwal would offer prayers at the birthplace of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, according to his AAP colleague and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.
Kejriwal had already arrived in Lucknow and was greeted by party workers. Sanjay Singh, speaking to reporters, said, “Today evening, he would do aarti at Saryu Ghat in Ayodhya. He will also pay a visit to the Hanuman Garhi shrine tomorrow morning before offering prayers at Lord Ram’s birthplace.”

In the meantime, the AAP national convenor appeared in Sultanpur district court in connection with a Model Code of Conduct complaint during a public rally during the 2014 national elections. The AAP has announced that it will run in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections next year. The AAP, led by Kejriwal, has stated that it will run for all 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
AAP is also attempting to expand its reach outside Delhi, with candidates running in Goa, Gujarat, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. In September, the Aam Aadmi Party unveiled a list of 170 candidates. If elected, the party has also vowed to deliver 300 free units of energy within 24 hours after taking over the government. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, claiming that he only recalls Lord Ram before elections.

Congress leader Rashid Alvi alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had connected religion with politics. As a result, leaders of other parties are being ‘forced to visit religious places.
