Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday put an interim stay on the recruitment process of 69 thousand assistant teachers in the state. This decision was passed by a bench of Justice Alok Mathur after hearing the petition of several petitioners simultaneously. The court reserved its verdict on June 1 in the case. The next hearing in the case will be on July 12.
The petitioners had questioned the veracity of some of the questions in the declared examination result. The court has asked the petitioners to submit objections to the disputed questions to the state government within a week.
The government will forward these objections to the UGC and the commission will resolve these objections. Advocate Raghavendra Singh and Additional Chief Permanent Advocate Ranvijay Singh, on behalf of the state government, presented the case, while senior advocates LP Mishra, HGS Parihar, Sudeep Seth, etc. on behalf of various petitioners.
The High Court said during the hearing that the candidates should present the objections to the state government within a week on the disputed questions. Government should send objections to UGC for disposal. Apart from this, the High Court has said that an expert opinion will be taken on all the contentious questions by writing a letter to the chairman of the UGC.
Significantly, the petitioners in this case have raised objection to the 4 replies in the answer key issued on 8 May 2020. The petitioners say that they have filed a petition in the court for no action by the competent authorities regarding the objection
