New Delhi: Union minister Nitin Gadkari has been dropped from the Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) because of his rising status, said the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Wednesday. Sharply reacting to Gadkari’s ouster from the Parliamentary Board, NCP spokesman Clyde Crasto twitted: “When your calibre and capabilities grow and you pose a challenge to the higher up, the BJP downsizes you. The tainted get upgraded…” Gadkari and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan have been dropped from the Parliamentary Board of the party.

On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, considered Gadkari’s rival, was included in the BJP’s Central Election Committee. Gadkari has recently commented that he sometimes feels like quitting politics as there more to life, besides he lamented that politics, nowadays, is more about staying in power than bringing about social changes.
