New Delhi: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Virbhadra Singh passed away on Thursday morning after prolonged illness. Congress leader Virbhadra Singh breathed his last at the age of 87 at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla.
Virbhadra Singh has been the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh six times. He was running ill for the last 2 months, during which he was also infected with corona twice. Virbhadra Singh had been an MLA nine times, along with that he was also elected MP five times. Presently he was MLA from Arki in Solan district.
Dr. Janak Raj, Medical Superintendent, Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Shimla said that he was admitted to our institute on 30th April, 2 days ago his health deteriorated and he breathed his last at 4 am today. He had recovered from Covid, but was battling a post-Covid complication.

Virbhadra Singh was also a Union Cabinet Minister in the UPA government. He held the Union Steel Ministry. Along with this there was also the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
