News Desk – Five Army soldiers were killed and another five injured in a tragic incident occurred in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. It took place around 3:30 p.m. near Jenda Nallah Badnota village, 124 kilometers from Kathua.
The Army convoy, part of the 9 Corps (Rising Star Corps), was traveling through the area when it came under heavy fire from militants.
In response, the Army engaged the militants in a firefight. Paratroopers were also airdropped near the scene to tighten the cordon around the encounter site.
The injured soldiers were taken to a hospital in Kathua. This attack coincided with the death anniversary of Burhan Wani, a former commander of the militant group Hizbul Mujahideen.
This incident is part of a recent increase in militant activities, including several other attacks over the past few days in Jammu and Kashmir.
