Bengaluru: Fed up with being beaten by his wife, a man from Karnataka complained to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) seeking protection from spouse. In the complaint, the man has said that his wife “regularly beats him” and that the woman threatened him with dire consequences. The man Yadunandan Acharya from Bengaluru related his tale of woes to the PMO through social media. The victim of domestic violence also tagged his tweet to the handles of Bengaluru city police commissioner Pratap Reddy and Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju.
Acharya tweeted: “Would anyone help me? Or did anyone help me when this happened? No, because I am a man! My wife attacked me with a knife. Is this Naari Shakti you boost about? Can I put a domestic violence case against her for this? No!”
Because of a knife attack by his wife, his hands are bleeding. Bengaluru police commissioner Pratap Reddy advised him to visit the police station and seek legal action. Acharya has received support from various sections of society.
