Bhopal: Although the Central Government is busy in telling the farmers the benefits of new agricultural laws, the ground reality is completely different from this. After the new laws, cases of cheating from farmers and not getting fair price are coming from many places in Madhya Pradesh. A similar big case has come up in Jabalpur where 26000 quintals of paddy were purchased by building a private procurement center and now farmers are wandering for payment.
The game of purchasing the produce of farmers on plain paper was going on at this center. This was revealed when the officials reached the Ganapati Ware House operated in Simra village under Patan tehsil of Jabalpur. Now instructions have been given to register an FIR against its operator in Patan Tehsil.
Paddy was being purchased by Nunsar, a large service cooperative society at Ganapati Ware House located in Simra village. While this ware house has not been made the procurement center this time. According to the Controller of Supply in-charge, the broad service cooperative society is being run by the manager Gandharv Singh without permission. SDM Jabalpur Arjaria and SDM Patan were stunned when they reached the spot to inspect with the District Marketing Officer.
At this center, paddy was purchased from the farmers and kept inside the warehouse. Not a single farmer was being issued a slip. Instead, the amount of paddy weighed was being written on a plain paper. Now the administration is trying to seize this paddy and give it to the concerned procurement center, so that farmers can get the price of their produce.
