A few say the grand party may get a clear majority
Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are in a tight contest for the 224-member Karnataka assembly for which election was held on Wednesday.
Exit polls forecast a tight contest. India Today-Axis My India predicted a clear majority for the grand old party. It said that the party might get 122-140 seats. It gave 62-80 seats to the BJP and 2-25 to the JD (S), the third player in the race.
Similarly, News24-Today’s Chanakya also predicted a clear win for the Congress giving it 120 seats, whereas it gave 92 seats to the BJP and 12 for the JD (S).
The results will be announced on Saturday.
On the other hand, ABP News-CVoter exit polls give the Congress 100-112 seats and the BJP 83-95 and the JD (S) 21-29.
According to Republic TV-PMARQ, the Congress is getting 94-108 seats, the BJP 85-100 and JD (S) 24-32 seats.
According to the India TV-CNX exit polls, the Congress will get 110-120 seats, the BJP 80-90 seats and the JD (S) 20-24 seats.
Similarly, TV9 Bharatvarsh-Polstart exit poll says the Congress may get 99-109 seats, the BJP 88-98 seats and JD (S) 21-26 seats.

According to Times Now-ETG exit polls, the Congress will get 113 seats, the BJP 85 seats and

In the last assembly election, the BJP, which won 104 seats, emerged as the single-largest party.
The Congress pocketed 80 seats and the JD (S) 37. Since no party had a clear majority and the Congress, and since the JD (S) were trying to forge an alliance, the BJP leader BS Yediyurappa staked claim to form a government.
Nevertheless, three days before the trust vote, Yediyurappa had to resign and the Congress-JD(S) formed a government with D Kumaraswamy becoming the Chief Minister, but the government collapsed in 14 months, since 17 legislators of the ruling dispensation resigned. The BJP formed the government.
