Corona infected journalist commits suicide by jumping from AIIMS building

New Delhi: A 37-year-old journalist, who is undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at AIIMS Trauma Center, died on Monday afternoon after jumping from the 4th floor of the hospital building. The journalist worked with a Hindi daily and was a resident of Bhajanpura in northeast Delhi.

According to the AIIMS official statement, the journalist “had symptoms of disorder, for which he was seen and medicated by a neurologist and psychiatrist”. The statement said that at around 1.55 am on Monday, the 37-year-old journalist ran out of the room where he was admitted and walked to the 4th floor where he broke a window glass and jumped out.

A doctor told on the condition of anonymity that he was later taken to the ICU of the hospital where the doctors tried to save him.
