Hyderabad police have furnished a legal notice to Congress strategist Sunil Kanugolu for commenting against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Further, Cybercrime have had asked Sunil to appear in connection with the allegation against him. The case was registered after police raided the congress party office in Madhapur. It was strongly opposed by the congress party and they even termed it as an attack on democracy. The Congress party even presented state-wide disagreement against the police action.
Following this, the congress party filed a petition against the police in Telangana high court. According to the information received three people were detained in custody under section 141 crpc.
As per the information received Sunil was arrested after the confession of three persons detained. Later the police also issued a statement stating that they have been acting under the law. Further, the police also claimed that there was no board to believe that it was a party office.
Five cases were lodged against the accused at Cyber Crime Police Station. The police later said that criticism in democracy is good but making derogatory statements is not acceptable and will be counted as a serious offense. The police also said that one should be free to expose oneself if one wants to criticize.
The police further said that initially, it was difficult to trace because they were operating from abroad and they further said that it was the first step and the police will do a fresh investigation into the matter.
