Patna: As was expected, the sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residential and official premises of five prominent Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders in Bihar, official sources said on Thursday. The raids were conducted in connection with IRCTC land-for-jobs scam. The central para military forces accompanied the CBI team.
The CBI team raided the residential premises of Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Suni Singh, Rajya Sabha members Asfaq Karim and Fayyaz Ahmad, a former MLC Subodh Rai and former legislator Abu Dojana. The locations the CBI sleuths searched included Patna, Madhubani and Katihar. Aside from that they raided the official premises of Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in Gurugram. The raids were carried out immediately after the Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) government won the trust vote in the state assembly on Wednesday.

The Grand Alliance comprises seven parties, including the RJD, Janata Dal (United), the Congress, the CPIML, the CPI, the CPI (M) and the Hindu Awam Morcha.
