New Delhi: Over 200 sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided 56 locations across 19 states and a Union Territory to stop sale and distribution of child porn on Saturday, official sources said. The raids are part of Operation Megha Chakra against circulation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on the Internet. It was a follow-up of the raids carried out in November last year.
Sources further said that the raids had been conducted on the ground of inputs from Interpol’s Singapore-based office of the Crime Against Child Unit which fights against peddlers of CSAM. Those who are involved in illicit distribution of child porn sites connected with sexual activities with minors use cloud facilities. Its code name is “Mnegha Chakra.”
