New Delhi: Mamta government minister Zakir Hussain in West Bengal was attacked by unidentified attackers at Nimita railway station in Murshidabad district on Wednesday night with a crude bomb, in which he has been seriously injured. The MLA from Jangipura in Murshidabad district and two others were taken to Jangipura sub divisional hospital before the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal.
A senior police officer from West Bengal said that the attack on the Minister of State for Labor, Hussain, occurred at around 10 pm on platform number 2 of the station. During this time, he was waiting for the train. After this attack, a police force has been deployed at Nimita railway station and its investigation has started. The minister and two other persons injured in the attack have been admitted to the subdivisional hospital in Jangipur. An official of the hospital said that there were injuries to the minister’s leg and lower abdomen.
